WHY CHOOSE ORGANIC ESENTIAL OILS?
Plants are extremely sensitive to the highly toxic substances found in chemical fertilizers and pesticides. These toxins can result in subtle changes right down to the genetic structure within the plant, giving rise to deviated plants with a weakened defense system. The use of chemicals in medicinal plant farming may significantly reduce the number of years on perennial eg. lavander, will survive.

Essential Oils are very powerful healing agents, they are able to penetrate the skins layers and enter the blood stream within seconds.

Chemical produce larger plants and greater yields in the short run. Many manufacturers will tell you that organic oils are not an important aspect of aromatherapy, but this is merely due to the high cost associated with purchasing organic oils and for personal profit interest.

When you purchase organic oils, you are protecting the health of the farm workers, eliminating the opportunity for deadly and harmful chemicals to enter our water systems and helping to protect the soil, the plant itself and the health of human and animals.

VARIOUS APPLICATIONS OF ESSENTIAL OILS
Choose 2-4 different oils to bring forth a synergistic effect:
Vaporizer add 3-6 drops to the water, depending on the size of the dish
Inhalation put a few drops into a bowl of hot water, keep the face about 1 feet away and breathe
Tissue put 3-6 drops on tissue, place near the nose and inhale
Massage 5-15 drops to 30ml. of carrier oil, less for emotional issue and more for physical symptoms, and according to the types of essential oils used
Bath dilute 8-10 drops in 1 tablespoon of raw vinegar or honey, and add to the bath water
Compress use a cold compress for inflammation, swollenness or 'hot' symptoms, a hot compress for chronic pain. 2-8 drops in a very small bowl of water, swirl the water and soak with a thin muslin made of natural fabric. Twist it a bit and place on affected area. Place a hot water bag or an ice pack on top
Home 4 drops to 1 cup of warm water. To enhance the refreshing effect, use 1/3 cup vinegar and 2/3 cup warm water

THE USE OF ESSENTIAL OILS DURING PREGNANCY
The skin beomes more permeable during pregnancy and also more sensitive. A number of oils stimulate menstruation and are therefore potentially hazardous. To play safe, it is advisable to avoid skin application especially during the early weeks of pregnancy. However, according to some aromatherapists, the following are safe after the first three months, but only half of the recommended dilution.
Geranium Neroli Ylang ylang Petitgrain
Frankincense Sandalwood Patchouli Chamomile (German and Roman)
Rose Otto Lavender Mandarin Grapefruit
Bergamot Lemon Coriander Black Pepper
Ginger Pine Cypress Peppermint
Orange

I would not recommend using skin application for the first few months, but if you are not sure, the entire pregnancy. It is better to stick to the inhalation method (again half of the recommeded dilution) to enhance mood etc. You can massage with just pure cold pressed olive oil or our belly balm. It is good for the baby and prevent stretch marks. Minute amount of the common essential oils in skin care products are safe.
